Guests enjoyed a drinks reception before heading into the ballroom to enjoy a performance by the Liverpool Signing Choir followed by a three course dinner ahead of a five star auction. Prizes included one off pieces of art created specifically for the event by artist Mackenzie Thorpe and sculptor Emma Rodgers both raising more than £40,000 each. The grand total raised for the children's charities was a staggering £256,900. The evening was topped off by a performance from Lulu who is currently starring in 42nd Street on the West End.
Michael Josephson MBE's story is truly inspirational. Michael suffered from horrific abuse in his childhood which resulted in him trying to end his life aged 20 when he jumped from a bridge. Miraculously he survived. His experience led him to set up his own businesses and raise money for other vulnerable young children. He has raised millions for charity and this Summer Ball is the first of his own events to add to that incredible fundraising effort.
The room at The Hilton Manchester Deansgate was full of high profile guests from the world of business and celebrity who wanted to make the night a true success for Michael.
