venue of the month - victoria warehouse
This month we have visited several venues around Manchester, but our venue of the month has to be Victoria Warehouse. We were instantly taken back by the sheer size of the venue, not like anything else in Manchester, the venue has over 5000 m2 of event space across its two buildings.
Originally built in the early 1900s as a cotton storage facility, the renovated building still feels very much how it would of 100 years ago. Featuring the old tram tracks, exposed brick work and railway sleepers, the warehouse although updated, definitely preserves the legacy of the building.
The two main event spaces, The Cotton Sheds and The Bays, which we knew little more than for hosting the famous Warehouse Project, now hosts everything from weddings to gala dinners to film premiers!
The sales team, Gio and Jemma, talked us through the exciting developments happening in the venue, including a whole new event space in the basement similar to The Bays and new hotel apartments being built above the hotel rooms. Amazingly, only one third of the space is currently occupied, so we definitely agree that there is much more to come from this unique venue.
What we loved about this venue:
We loved the versatility of the space. Although some may look at the blank, industrial open spaces and find it difficult to imagine an event here, we enjoyed the endless possibilities the space provided. The little cinema with seating salvaged from an old theatre, and the authentic yoga studio means you can practice your downward dog and feast on popcorn whilst watching old films all under the same roof.
